Why is Saturday delivery so expensive?
Very few couriers offer Saturday guaranteed delivery, the few which do are extremely expensive, but Royal mails Saturday service is good value for money considering the extra costs to run such a service ie staff wages, overtime, logistics etc.
We charge on average £8.95 to cover the additional costs for this vital service, and is a lifesaver for many people who leave gift purchases to the very last minute. It can be quite embarrassing attending a wedding, christening or birthday without a gift.
How Do We Do It?
You may ask how we can possibly engrave a gift, package it and post it within 24 hours? Fortunately we have an experienced team of engravers and use the latest, fastest engraving machines money can buy coupled with extreme staff dedication to make sure that your order is processed as efficiently as possible.
Why Do We Charge Per Item?
A few customer do ask why we charge per item. Basically we only have 8 hours during the day to engrave, package and post customers orders. As you can imagine the process is quite time consuming especially quirky items such as an engraved rolo which requires the engraver to engrave the circumference of the rolo and also fit a message within the engraving. Nerves are also high as this particular Rolo is made from sterling silver and will be ruined if engraved incorrectly, so the engraver needs time to do this.
Another reason we charge extra postage per item for next day delivery gifts – imagine receiving a large order on Friday afternoon for 1000 personalised wine glasses! It is practically impossible to engrave this amount of glasses within such a short space of time even with our super fast engraving machines and staff dedication.
