Bohemia Crystal Guide: The Quadro Collection
The Truth About Bohemia Crystal:
Why the "Quadro" is Worth the Weight
Understanding the difference between genuine Czech craftsmanship and cheap imitations, and why "Crystalite" is the modern choice for whisky connoisseurs.
The Personalised Quadro Whisky Tumbler
Bold, avant-garde, and reassuringly heavy. The Quadro is the flagship of the modern Bohemia range.
Unlike traditional cut glass, the Quadro relies on a twisted, helical shape to refract light. Weighing in at over 400g, this glass is a "brick" of luxury. It features a smooth surface that wraps around the twist, offering a unique canvas for deep engraving that stands out in 3D relief.
⚠️ A Note on Authenticity
Beware of look-alikes. Many sellers use official photos but ship inferior, lightweight copies. We guarantee that you are purchasing Genuine Bohemia Crystal.
Is Your Glass Genuine?
"Crystalite" vs. Traditional "Lead Crystal"
1. Traditional Lead Crystal
Historically, lead was added to glass to soften it, making it easier to hand-cut. It is heavy and refracts light into rainbows. However, it is soft (scratches easily) and is not dishwasher safe.
2. Modern Crystalite (Titanium)
This is what the Quadro is made from. It replaces lead with Titanium. This makes the glass ecologically safe, harder than steel (scratch resistant), and crucially, Dishwasher Safe.
The Complete Experience: Quadro Decanter Set
For the ultimate gift, the Quadro glass is available as part of a stunning decanter set. This includes the matching twisted decanter—a centerpiece for any room.
Like the glasses, the decanter is made from heavy Crystalite. It features a solid glass stopper (ground by hand for a perfect seal) rather than the plastic bungs used on cheaper imitations.
